ASBPE is a national professional organization that focuses on helping editors develop their skills, particularly management skills.
Headquartered in Atlanta, it sponsors chapters in several major cities and is working to start additional chapters in other publishing centers. The organization's activities include a newsletter, an annual conference, an editorial and graphic awards competition and a salary survey. Its Web site includes classified employment ads.
Regular membership ($75 a year) is open to editors and writers working for business, professional, trade, association and online publications. Suppliers may become associate members ($80 a year).
